“You can have more than one home. You can carry your roots with you, and decide where they grow.” — Henning Mankell

Two years ago, I crossed the Old Harbor Bridge with no idea what this next chapter of my life would hold.

This past weekend, I crossed the New Harbor Bridge one last time as I left Corpus Christi.

Somehow, that drive felt like the perfect metaphor. One bridge welcomed me into a season of uncertainty, and another carried me into the next. I still don’t know exactly what this new chapter will bring, but I know this: I’m leaving as a different person than the one who arrived.

The Coastal Bend gave me so much in such a short time. The stories I had the privilege to tell, the people I met, and the friendships I built have changed me in ways I’ll always carry with me.

So here’s one final letter to the community that gave me more than I ever expected. ❤️

Until our paths cross again,

Lidia
