About Me

Simply Me

I was born in Los Angeles but raised in Houston—specifically a suburb called Alief. Houston is home and while I may not live there right now, I know I’ll make my way back someday.

I grew up in a Mexican-American household where our parents encouraged us to speak both English and Spanish but it was more Spanglish than anything else. I’m the oldest of four, and our childhood was filled with Disney movies, road trips, bike rides, laughter, and driving our parents a bit insane!

After high school, I stayed close to home and attended the University of Houston, where I earned a BA in Communications with a focus on Journalism and Spanish. After college, I worked in print journalism, social media, and marketing. Eventually, I found my way into the the broadcast field—and I haven’t looked back.

I started as a Digital Content Producer in East Texas and now work as a reporter in Corpus Christi. As a reporter I get to meet people from all walks of life, share their stories, and give them a voice—that’s the part I love the most.

When I’m not chasing stories, I’m running with my dog Luna, relaxing at the beach, reading a good book, catching up with friends, or—like now—writing here.

This blog is my little corner of the internet to share my journey, connect with others, and keep the creativity flowing.

Thanks for joining me on this journey!
