Here’s to strong women: May we know them, May we be them, May we raise them

“Being a woman means empowering other women!” Sandra Navarro

Happy International Women’s Day! This day is a global celebration of social, cultural, political and economic achievements of women.

From the early Women’s Suffrage Moment to present day equality movements, women from all centuries have paved the way for women to have a voice to continue fighting for equality.

Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton and the many other women started the Women’s Suffrage Movement in 1848.

For 50 years, these ladies and so many others sacrificed so much and still fought for change. They gave future women an example of what courage looks like and what you can accomplish if you work together.

Now women continue to fight for equal wage pay, reproductive rights (abortion), better maternal leave conditions, fair gender equality work environment and so much more.

“Being a woman is proving people wrong!”- Susie Salas

Politically in the US, women of all ethnicity have been sworn into government positions such as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilan Omar, Ayanna Pressley, Deb Haaland to name a few.

The past and present women have better the lives for future women. But what does it truly mean to be a women, especially now in our society. We all have different definitions of what it means to be a woman. But at the end, each definition is unique like every women.

This post is dedicated to all the past and present women who have inspired and continue to inspire future women.

P.S. For me being a women means learning to be comfortable in you own skin and using your voice to protect others.
