You have to choose a team!

Do I really need to choose a team when my two favorite teams are in the world series? Does it really matter who I choose because I love both so much? Will it make a difference?

No, choosing will not change the fact that I love both teams so much. I’ve never been so torn before but this post-season has been very stressful deciding if I should really end up choosing a team.

There’s so many reason why I love both so to help EVERYONE understand why I am so torn here are my reasons:

Los Angles Dodgers:

  • I’m originally from Los Angeles, and there’s an unsaid loyalty that everyone who is from there instantly is a Dodgers fan.
  • Even though I wasn’t raised in LA, every summer since I was a kid my family would go back and visit family. My LA family loves the Dodgers so I grew up watching them play.
  • My favorite baseball players: Jackie Robinson, Fernando Venezuela, Cody Bellinger, Clayton Kershaw, etc.
  • It’s been 29 years since they have won a World Series so you better believe they will put up a fight.
  • Dodgers ended with the best season in baseball history: 104–58

Houston Astros:

  • I  was raised in Houston and grew up watching the Astros play.
  • I remember watching the Astros in 2005 when they went to their 1st World Series.  And yes I didn’t wear white socks for a while. After their lost, the Astros had bad seasons but they didn’t give up leading them to reinventing the team after the 2013 season.
  • My favorite baseball players: Craig Biggio, Jeff Bagwell, George Springer, José Altuve, etc.
  • They’ve been working hard these past years to make it to the World Series again and they’re going to put up a fight.
  • During the time Hurricane Harvey hit Houston, the Astros had to continue to play games while their family, friends and city was left in devastation. So they’re not just playing to win the World Series, they’re playing for Houston.

I grew up watching both teams, seen their success and failures over the years, worn their jerseys and been to games since I was a kid. There’s a special part in my heart for both teams because they represent who I am and I’m so proud of their accomplishments this season.

So instead of trying to decide on which team to root for this World Series, I choose to stay neutral and enjoy each and every game. Regardless of the outcome, I will be happy because I love each team and they both deserve to be in this World Series.

I mean how many people can say their favorite baseball teams are going head to head at the World Series?

Love Always,

Lidia
